WWE Superstar Sheamus has broken his silence regarding the recent news of R-Truth’s contract not being renewed, offering praise, personal stories, and hope for the future of the beloved veteran.
Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, the Celtic Warrior reflected on Truth’s legendary ability to connect with audiences:
“From our perspective, what we do—entertainment—it’s about entertaining the fans. People get to know who that person is and they fall in love with the character and the personality,” Sheamus said. “For Truth, for example, he’s one of the most beloved because he’s one of the most entertaining.”
Sheamus then revealed his long-standing friendship with Truth, dating back to his WWE debut:
“I had my first dark match against him when I came up… and R-Truth had just come back… From then we bonded. It’s that fella walking in the dressing room and it’s just a laugh. He’s got a contagious laugh that would just light up the room.”
Despite Truth’s contract reportedly not being renewed, Sheamus expressed confidence that fans haven’t seen the last of the former United States and 24/7 Champion:
“It’s not the end. Sometimes it’s a bit of a break. There’s no way Truth is not going to come back at some stage.”
R-Truth’s absence has already sparked fan movements, with “We Want Truth” chants echoing throughout Raw and NXT in recent days. As WWE veterans, current stars, and fans alike continue to rally behind him, the door may not be closed for good.
