WWE Hall of Famer โ€œStone Coldโ€ Steve Austin recently appeared on the Unlikely podcast with Adrian Hernandez, sharing updates on his recovery, his friendship with CM Punk, and his plans for WrestleMania week.

Austin, who is recovering from knee replacement surgery, remains positive about his progress. โ€œIโ€™m feeling good. Iโ€™m about 13 weeks out. It takes about a year for these things to fully heal, so itโ€™s still a little tender,โ€ he explained. Despite this, heโ€™s gearing up for an intense off-road race. โ€œJust got back in the car and started driving. Weโ€™re about to run the Met 400 race, which will probably be the roughest race Iโ€™ve ever done. If I can just keep my knee togetherโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll do the best I can. But the knee is solid. The arthritis is gone, and Iโ€™m out of pain. Iโ€™m in a good place, but thereโ€™s still work to do.โ€

As WrestleMania heads to Las Vegas, Austin confirmed heโ€™ll be in town, though he hasnโ€™t discussed any official involvement with WWE. โ€œI have some appearances lined up. I havenโ€™t talked to WWE or anything like that, but Iโ€™ll be around,โ€ he said.

Austin also spoke about his long-standing friendship with CM Punk, recalling a photo from Punkโ€™s youth. โ€œMe and Punk go way back,โ€ he said. โ€œHe was just a young kid, a Stone Cold fan back in the day. And Iโ€™m a CM Punk fan. I love his work and his promosโ€”he can light somebody up.โ€ While they donโ€™t talk often, Austin emphasized the respect between them: โ€œWeโ€™ll send each other a text every now and then. Weโ€™re probably really good friends who just donโ€™t talk much, but thereโ€™s a lot of mutual respect.โ€
