Tony Khan Reportedly Disappointed With Warner Bros. Discovery Offer

Tony Khan reportedly feels let down by what is currently being offered, despite putting on a brave face in the media with a recent quote regarding AEW’s TV rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, which expires at the end of this year.

As PWMania.com previously reported, both sides are believed to have yet to reach a new agreement, but AEW and WBD still have an exclusivity window through the summer. If a deal is reached, it will most likely be announced in the summer or fall. During a recent interview, Khan stated that people should have confidence that a deal will be completed.

While everyone is discussing the possibility of WBD losing the rights to the next NBA deal, WBD CEO and President David Zaslav will focus on the company’s other content properties, including AEW.

Puck News’ Matt Belloni reports that “Zaslav and TNT Sports head Luis Silberwasser would like to keep the five hours of AEW programming per week on TNT and TBS” with Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision.

Belloni wrote, “But the clock is ticking. I’m told the exclusive window closes in July, and AEW leader Tony Khan is said to be disappointed with the offer currently on the table.”

Khan stated at the Double or Nothing press conference on Sunday night that he enjoys working for Mr. David Zaslav and hopes to do so for a long time. If WBD does not obtain NBA rights, AEW will gain more leverage in the hopes of receiving more money.
