According to Fightful Select, former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter was not present at last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, despite previously stating that she was feeling okay following her high-profile match against TBS Champion Mercedes Moné.
Sources within AEW indicate that Hayter has not yet been medically cleared to return to in-ring action. It was noted that if she had been available, the company would have booked her for the show.
Due to Hayter’s absence, AEW reportedly had to “get creative” with Thekla’s storyline development. This led to the now-talked-about segment where the arena lights went out — a decision made to buy time and adjust plans given Hayter’s unavailability.
As of now, there is no official timetable for Hayter’s return. However, AEW officials remain optimistic that she will be back in the ring sooner rather than later.
Hayter has not appeared on AEW programming since the Dynamite episode immediately following Double or Nothing. Stay with PWMania.com for ongoing updates on her recovery and future in AEW.
