TNA Wrestling Hall of Famer Gail Kim spoke with Gabby LaSpisa on Gabby AF on a number of pro wrestling related topics, including how there were plans for her to team up with pro wrestling legend Mickie James.
Kim said, โA lot of people donโt know this, but at the end of last yearโฆ.now itโs not going to happen, so I can talk about it. We were talking about having me and Mickie (James) tag. Get into the tag division to help boost the Knockouts tag division. The timing wasnโt right. It was supposed to be for the beginning of this year. Nick (Aldis) was going into WWE as Mickie was taking a step back. It wasnโt working timing-wise. Then, I suggested maybe me and Nattie. I was trying to work with that cross-promotion. Once all the management changes happened at the beginning of this year, I honestly took on so much that I canโt see it happening with the roles that I have backstage.โ
โThe longer you donโt wrestle for, it just becomes more difficult. To be honest, I care about my body of work so much, if I was going to get in the ring as talent, I have to give it my all. I would literally, probably, have to drop almost everything I do backstage. Itโs so much that I donโt know who would fill those roles. I donโt see it logistically happening. It would be a dream to do it with the right scenario. The whole Mickie tag team was a dream scenario. I accepted at that point, so it was going to happen, but now it just canโt. I truly believe everything is meant to be. โOkay, Gail, you left it at the 1000th episode. Everything is hunky dory.โ Iโm happy with my body of work. Maybe Iโm just meant to help lead backstage. Iโm okay with that.โ
