During AEW Grand Slam: Australia, fans noticed that a smaller ring was used compared to AEWโ€™s standard size in the United States. AEWโ€™s Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination, QT Marshall, responded to questions about the change on Twitter/X, clarifying the decision to use a local ring instead of shipping one to Brisbane.

Marshall explained:

โ€œThe AEW ring is a design that only AEW has. Itโ€™s very rare that an independent company (or a major company) has a 20ft ring. This ring is an 18ft ring. TNA has been using for years and older ROH as well. Why is this a talking point? Itโ€™s not our first time using an 18ft ring.โ€

Marshallโ€™s response emphasized that using an 18-foot ring is standard practice in certain situations and has a history within the wrestling industry. Despite the size difference, the ring setup did not detract from the action-packed event in Brisbane.
