AEW’s annual Blood & Guts special featured two physically demanding matches on the November 4 episode of Dynamite, but a new report suggests that everyone involved managed to avoid any significant injuries despite the punishment endured throughout the night.
Wednesday’s broadcast opened with the second Women’s Blood & Guts match in AEW history before concluding with the men’s version of the violent encounter. Both matches featured blood, weapons, and several dangerous spots, leading to understandable concerns about the physical condition of the wrestlers involved.
According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, there were no reported injuries coming out of either contest. “It appears everyone in both Blood and Guts matches are OK,” Alvarez wrote. However, Alvarez noted that there was a brief injury concern involving Darby Allin following a spot during the men’s match. Allin reportedly struck himself in the face with his own knee while taking a Michinoku Driver, initially raising concerns about possible damage to one of his teeth. “There was concern about Darby’s tooth after, of all things, his own knee hit his face on a Michinoku driver bump, but turned out he was OK,” Alvarez added.
The positive injury update is particularly noteworthy given the physical nature of the Blood & Guts stipulation, which has become one of AEW’s most punishing annual attractions. Last year’s event reportedly resulted in several minor injuries, although there were no similar issues reported following this year’s matches.
The Women’s Blood & Guts match saw Jamie Hayter, Alex Windsor, Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, and Queen Aminata emerge victorious following a brutal encounter.
Meanwhile, the men’s Blood & Guts main event concluded with The Don Callis Family team of Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, Wardlow, Kevin Knight, Mark Davis, and Jake Doyle securing the victory.
Despite the intense action and several concerning moments throughout both matches, the latest backstage update indicates that the participating wrestlers came through the event without any reported injuries.
