In a recent interview with Peter Rosenberg, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H broke down the organic rise of Jey Uso from tag team competitor to singles main eventer, crediting his charisma, connection with the audience, and key moments within the Bloodline storyline as the fuel for his current status.

“Sometimes things happen organically along the way that get you to where you want to be,” said Triple H. “Jey through the Bloodline saga was sort of a linchpin in that storytelling, then goes off on his own.”

He acknowledged that there was skepticism about whether Uso could shine solo once separated from Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman:

“A lot of people question whether these guys… are they going to succeed and be anything more?”

According to Triple H, Jey capitalized on those chances, stepping into moments that defined his breakout:

“Jey, when he had the opportunity to do it, would click on these moments… At the end of the day, a lot of times, that’s what our business is just about. It’s about moments.”

He also challenged the notion that being a great technical wrestler is the key to becoming a top star:

“Make me a list of the greatest performers in this business, and that list will be two-thirds of the people that were worse than the majority of the list of great workers that didn’t get to the top.”

While Triple H recognized Jey’s athleticism, he emphasized that charisma and crowd connection are what truly drive superstardom:

“Is he the most technical guy here? No… but he has a charisma and a likability that he lets people in and they want to see him succeed… That’s what it takes. It’s about box office.”

With his match against GUNTHER set for WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso’s main event status continues to grow—powered by more than just in-ring skill, but by the very essence of sports entertainment.
