The Hurt Syndicate On Cedric Alexander’s Potential Arrival

In a new interview on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, AEW World Tag Team Champions Bobby Lashley and MVP opened up about the formation and future of The Hurt Syndicate, their revived faction in AEW that mirrors their successful run as The Hurt Business in WWE.

The current iteration of the group, which officially formed in late 2024, consists of Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin. Together, they captured the AEW World Tag Team Titles in January 2025, defeating Private Party.

The duo also addressed the possibility of Cedric Alexander—the fourth member of their former WWE faction—joining them in AEW. Alexander was released by WWE earlier this year and is currently under a 90-day non-compete clause.

“I believe he is still on his 90 days,” MVP noted.

Lashley added, “We love Ced, he’s like our little brother, so we will see what happens.”

Their storyline in AEW has also included MJF teasing his way into the group, with MVP appearing open to the idea while Lashley has remained firmly against it.

When asked if he always believed the group would reunite, Lashley said:

“I did. I mean, it was inevitable. When we came together originally, it was so natural. It was so real. The crowd, you guys knew it. This isn’t just a couple of guys that got thrown together. You see it all the time. You see in WWE, you see it in AEW, guys that get thrown together, and the minute they leave the show, they all go their separate ways. That’s not how we work. We are really friends. We really do stuff together. We really argue. We really fight like brothers. This is real. You guys feel it, and that’s why it gets over so well.”
