According to WrestleVotes, WWE is showing “significant interest” in bringing Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide legend Psycho Clown to its main roster.
The report states that WWE is “intrigued” by Psycho Clown’s larger-than-life persona and believes there is major marketing potential in the colorful, masked star.
“We are told WWE has a significant interest in making yet another AAA star a prominent part of their main roster, that being Psycho Clown,” WrestleVotes reported. “Psycho Clown, who is a third-generation wrestler, has been working under this current gimmick with AAA since 2007 and has also appeared briefly on TNA TV back in 2019. WWE is said to be intrigued by his character and the marketing abilities that are attached to it.”
Psycho Clown has been one of AAA’s biggest attractions for over 15 years, known for his electrifying entrances, over-the-top look, and connection with fans. He is the son of Brazo de Plata (Super Porky) and carries on the legacy of the Alvarado wrestling family.
This interest comes in the wake of WWE’s deepening relationship with AAA following its acquisition of the Mexican promotion, which has led to increased crossover appearances.
Notably, Psycho Clown is scheduled to appear at WWE’s SuperShow live events in Mexico this July alongside other AAA stars.
