Jelly Roll Training For WWE In-Ring Debut At SummerSlam

Grammy Award-winning artist Jelly Roll is set to bring his passion for professional wrestling to the ring, as PWInsider reports the chart-topping singer is training for his in-ring debut at WWE SummerSlam this August.

Jelly Roll, a lifelong WWE fan, is reportedly scheduled to appear on Friday Night SmackDown this week to kick off the storyline that will culminate in his first match. Sources say heโ€™ll be aligned with a top babyface for a tag team or special attraction match at SummerSlam, live from East Rutherford, New Jersey.

While his partner hasnโ€™t been officially named, PWInsider notes it will not be Cody Rhodes, who is already set to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the event.

Jelly Rollโ€™s connection to WWE goes beyond fandom. He performed โ€œSave Meโ€ at SummerSlam 2023 in Detroit and has frequently spoken about his admiration for pro wrestling. Over the past year, he has openly discussed working toward an in-ring appearance, including training and weight loss to prepare for the physicality of the ring.

โ€œThis isnโ€™t just a walk-on spot for Jelly. Heโ€™s been training seriously and wants to earn his moment,โ€ one source noted.

WWE has a rich history of integrating celebrities into major storylinesโ€”some with mixed results. But in recent years, the bar has been raised by standout performances from stars like Bad Bunny and Logan Paul, both of whom earned widespread praise for their in-ring efforts and commitment to the craft.

Jelly Roll now looks to follow in their footsteps, bringing mainstream crossover appeal and a deep respect for wrestling culture to his upcoming storyline.

Stay tuned to SmackDown this Friday for Jelly Rollโ€™s official WWE storyline launchโ€”and get ready for a summer showdown at SummerSlam.
