On Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, a major brawl broke out between several contenders for the AEW World Trios Championship, including The Dogs and The Conglomeration. This chaos escalated when reigning champions “Hangman” Adam Page and Brodido entered the scene. The Demand and The Lethal Twist also appeared on stage to assert their claims.
Page then issued an open challenge to the entire locker room for the World Trios Championship at the August 30th pay-per-view event at Wembley Stadium. Later in the show, Swerve Strickland reacted to Page’s challenge, sparking speculation about a possible partnership with former WWE stars Kofi Kingston (Kofi) and Xavier Woods (Austin Creed) at All In.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation regarding the AEW World Trios Title. He noted that, besides the usual suspects such as The Demand, The Dogs, The Conglomeration, The Lethal Twist, and Swerve Strickland, along with two mystery partners, the match could also include other teams. Meltzer stated that The Bang Bang Gang and any three members of The Don Callis Family might be added to the title match in London.
He also mentioned that the prevailing expectation is that Strickland’s mystery partners will be the former New Day members. However, he expressed concern that debuting them in a match featuring so many other wrestlers might not be the best way to introduce them.
