Pro wrestling veteran Mercedes Martinez recently announced on her Twitter (X) account that she suffered an ACL tear during her match against Allie Katch for 2CW on August 15th. As a result of this injury, she has decided to retire from the ring.
Martinez, who was in the midst of her retirement tour called the “Last Run Tour,” shared the message: “💔 With a heavy heart, the #LastRunTour is over.

Martinez began her training for professional wrestling in 2000 and had notable runs in SHIMMER, ROH, and other independent promotions. She had two stints in WWE, first from 2017 to 2018 and then from 2020 to 2021. After her last WWE run, she joined TNA and later signed with AEW/ROH in 2021. In 2022, she held the ROH Women’s World Championship before losing it to the current champion, Athena.
