A significant round of WWE roster cuts has taken place, but the latest backstage word suggests main roster talent are not currently expected to be affected.
As previously reported, WWE has released a number of wrestlers from NXT and its developmental system, with the list of departures growing to 10 names.
The reported releases include Wendy Choo, Adriana Rizzo, Zena Sterling, Anya Rune, Braxton Cole, Jasper Troy, PJ Vasa, Gary Wilson, Ellen Akesson and Marcus Brown.
With the number of departures increasing, there has naturally been speculation over whether the cuts could extend to WWE’s Raw and SmackDown rosters.
According to PWInsider, however, main roster releases are not expected to be part of this particular round of cuts.
The current releases are instead believed to be focused on NXT and WWE’s developmental system.
Jasper Troy was among the first departures to emerge publicly after posting “30 Days” alongside a black heart emoji on X, apparently referencing the 30-day non-compete period associated with released NXT talent. His release was subsequently confirmed by PWInsider.
PJ Vasa’s departure also surfaced before Fightful Select reported that the overall list had expanded to 10 talent.
Several recognizable NXT names are among those leaving, including Troy, who won the inaugural season of WWE LFG, challenged Oba Femi for the NXT Championship and later became WWE Speed Champion.
Wendy Choo and Adriana Rizzo are also among the more established NXT television personalities included in the cuts.
While the current backstage word should ease immediate concerns regarding Raw and SmackDown talent, it does not necessarily rule out WWE making main roster changes separately in the future. As things currently stand, however, there has been no indication that main roster wrestlers are expected to be included in this round of releases.
