WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator Jim Ross recently discussed various topics on an episode of his podcast, Grilling JR.
One of the subjects he covered was whether TNA Wrestling could be a reasonable next destination for current free agent Aleister Black.
Ross said, “Might be, might be. I’m not sure. This is going to sound real negative, but I don’t watch TNA. Not for any reason that I want to share — there’s no reason. It’s just, I don’t know if it’s on a night that I’m watching something else, a competitive program on another network. I don’t even know when their show airs. I hate to say that, but that’s just a fact. I wish them well. I have friends that work there, and for their sake and their family’s sake, I hope that they do good. So there’s some job security in that proposition.”
On the WWE and TNA relationship:
“Well, maybe a minor role. I don’t know if anything ever becomes a television product. I didn’t have great faith that it was going to be an everlasting, solid relationship. To have a solid relationship, both sides have got to win. And can that be orchestrated with WWE and TNA? Hell, I don’t know. I don’t know what bullet points of this arrangement TNA will be looking for. What do they bring to the table that makes them special? I can’t think of anything right offhand. But I might not be looking at it with my objective glasses on. I just don’t see a future in it.”
