WWE Superstar Damian Priest has opened up about the physical and mental challenges he has faced over the past year, revealing that he underwent medical procedures to help manage lingering pain while continuing to perform.

Priest worked a reduced in-ring schedule during the second half of 2025 as he dealt with nagging injuries. However, the former World Heavyweight Champion says he has since made significant progress with both his physical condition and overall mindset.

During a recent appearance on WWE Radio’s Off The Ropes, Priest discussed the physical demands of professional wrestling and explained why he generally avoids speaking publicly about injuries. “Well, we’re never okay. It is what we do, you know. No bitching and moaning, I don’t like overly talking about how my body is because I’m still showing up to do the job. It’s not an excuse. I’m not the only one banged up. So if my opponent’s banged up too, we’re on an even playing field. So I don’t like to rely on that.”

Despite acknowledging the toll wrestling has taken on his body, Priest revealed that he has been feeling considerably better after undergoing procedures designed to relieve some of his discomfort. “But, I’m feeling a lot better. I got some procedures done while I never took a day off, you know what I mean?”

Priest did not disclose the specific procedures he underwent, but explained that the improvements have allowed him to adjust his training routine and work toward regaining his previous physical condition.

He also admitted that his struggles had begun affecting his mental outlook, leading him to recognize that he needed to make changes beyond his physical recovery. “So, I got some stuff done to ease pain and I feel a lot better. I think people can see it visually. I’m training differently, I’m getting back into the shape that I used to be in and it’s all because I feel better.”

Priest continued by discussing the impact the situation had on his confidence and the way he viewed himself and his career. “I’m in a better head place too, you know — I got myself down and for somebody who likes to think positively of myself and my career, I started doing the opposite and I had to check myself a little bit. So that came with my health, physically and mentally. I’m in a good place now, man. It is what it is.”

The WWE star’s comments highlight the challenges he has been managing behind the scenes while maintaining his commitments to the company.

Although Priest has not provided further details about his medical treatment, he indicated that the results have been noticeable in his training, physical appearance and mental well-being.

With his health improving, Priest says he is now in a much better place both physically and mentally as he continues his WWE career.
