WWE star AJ Styles recently appeared on an episode of The Ringer Wrestling Show podcast, where he talked about a number of topics including why he feels he is edging closer to the end of his in-ring career.
Styles said, โIโm getting to that point where I am worried about embarrassing myself, my brain says we can do this, and my body is like, youโre stupid, we can not do this, weโre hurting every day when we roll out of bed, at some point this has to come to an end.โ
โIโve realized, like so many others that have come before me, the greats, they get out of it when we think thereโs still time for them, and itโs because we donโt want to embarrass ourselves, so weโre just trying to get out while we still can, where we can still get around and just have fun away from wrestling, and I love it, this what I do, this is what I know.โ
โIโve spent more than half my life doing this, but at some point youโve got to let go. I donโt want to disappoint you when you see AJ Styles, I want you to go, thatโs my guy, thatโs the guy I know, rather than go man, he just isnโt the same guy, he canโt do what he used to do. I donโt want to be that guy to you, I donโt want to let you down. My time is coming, itโs getting short, but I am going to enjoy it, I promise you that.โ
