WWE star AJ Styles recently appeared on an episode of The Ringer Wrestling Show podcast, where he talked about a number of topics including why he feels he is edging closer to the end of his in-ring career.

Styles said, โ€œIโ€™m getting to that point where I am worried about embarrassing myself, my brain says we can do this, and my body is like, youโ€™re stupid, we can not do this, weโ€™re hurting every day when we roll out of bed, at some point this has to come to an end.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve realized, like so many others that have come before me, the greats, they get out of it when we think thereโ€™s still time for them, and itโ€™s because we donโ€™t want to embarrass ourselves, so weโ€™re just trying to get out while we still can, where we can still get around and just have fun away from wrestling, and I love it, this what I do, this is what I know.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve spent more than half my life doing this, but at some point youโ€™ve got to let go. I donโ€™t want to disappoint you when you see AJ Styles, I want you to go, thatโ€™s my guy, thatโ€™s the guy I know, rather than go man, he just isnโ€™t the same guy, he canโ€™t do what he used to do. I donโ€™t want to be that guy to you, I donโ€™t want to let you down. My time is coming, itโ€™s getting short, but I am going to enjoy it, I promise you that.โ€
