WWE has had a successful year with their premium live events, from the Royal Rumble to the Elimination Chamber to WrestleMania 39 and Backlash in Puerto Rico.
WWE holds Money in the Bank on July 1 at the O2 Arena in London, England, before traveling to Detroit, MI for Summerslam on August 5 at Ford Field.
Several matches, including WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor and Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio, as well as the two MITB ladder matches, have already been confirmed for this year’s PLE.
In the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the show’s main event will feature Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Meltzer wrote, “It has been confirmed that Roman Reigns will be in the main event and most likely, his match will be either strongly alluded to or confirmed on the 6/16 SmackDown show.”
Based on recent television angles, Meltzer predicted that Jimmy Uso would be his opponent.
