Backstage News On Former WWE Star Returning To The Company

With talent contracts from the biggest promotions—WWE, AEW, NJPW, and TNA—set to expire, 2024 is predicted to be a busy year in the pro wrestling free agency market.

Andrade is not the only former WWE star set to return to the company after a long absence; Trinity, formerly known as Naomi in WWE, is also set to return.

Trinity and Mercedes Mone left WWE in May 2022 due to creative differences. They were later suspended until they negotiated their release, after which they split up. Trinity joined Impact Wrestling, while Mone joined NJPW.

Mone had discussions with WWE about a possible return, but those talks fell through. She is expected to make her AEW soon. Trinity is expected to become a free agent soon after finishing her contract with TNA, according to reports earlier this week. She does have a Knockouts Title defense scheduled for Hard to Kill next Saturday.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that her return was “expected and in the current plans” according to their sources in WWE.

Meltzer went on to say, “There had been unofficial talks with her dating back nearly a year, and those in TNA expected this would happen when her deal was up.”
