SummerSlam will not feature Becky Lynch vs. WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus after all. On Monday’s RAW, Adam Pearce granted Lynch a rematch, but Zoey Stark immediately rushed the ring and attacked Lynch, resulting in a DQ. Pearce booked Lynch vs. Stratus for the August 14 RAW from the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, following a ringside brawl. Stark will be banned from the ring.
Lynch vs. Stratus was always planned for SummerSlam, as we noted months ago. Now, according to Fightful Select, plans for the match changed this past weekend, as it was discussed for WWE Payback on September 2 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The match for the August 14 RAW was then decided by WWE officials.
There had been online rumors about Lynch possibly taking time off around SummerSlam, but Fightful says those rumors are false.
