JD McDonagh will not be joining The Judgment Day in the near future.

As PWMania.com previously reported, WWE had plans for McDonagh to team up with mentor Finn Balor and The Judgment Day to capitalize on McDonagh’s history with Balor. For a few weeks, WWE teased a storyline involving McDonagh and Balor on RAW TV, but there has been no follow-up in the last month.

In an update, WRKDWrestling reports that creative plans for McDonagh and The Judgment Day have been put on hold for the time being.

The reason for the storyline’s postponement was not given, but McDonagh has been reduced to working WWE Main Event in recent weeks. McDonagh worked the Intercontinental Title Contender Battle Royal on RAW on May 15, then wrestled Dolph Ziggler to a double count-out on May 29 after being called to RAW in the WWE Draft. He then lost to Apollo Crews on WWE Main Event on June 22, and defeated Crews the following week on Main Event. McDonagh defeated Akira Tozawa on the July 6 Main Event episode, but was defeated again by Crews at the pre-RAW tapings on Monday, which will air on this week’s Main Event show.
