Inaugural Champion Crowned But No Title Changes At IMPACT’s Down Under Tour

The IMPACT Down Under Tour event is now in the books and we take a look at the two night event. This was a ppv event streaming live on FITE from the Equex Centre in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia.

All current champions retained their titles successfully, with most on the roster wrestling on both shows.

Night 1 saw Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry defeat Eddie Edwards. X-Division Champion Chris Sabin defeated Frankie Kazarian & Robbie Eagles. World Tag Team Champions ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) defeated Moose & Brian Myers. Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Steph De Landera. And in the main event, World Champion Alex Shelley defeated Steve Maclin to retain his title.

Night 2 saw an inaugural champion crowned, as Adam Brooks defeated Robbie Eagles to become the First Ever Oceania Pro Wrestling’s Men’s Champion.

Night 2 also saw Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry successfully defend his title again, this time against Moose. World Tag Team Champions ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) defeated Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin). In the main event, Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo defeated Gisele Shaw.

While it was predictable, like in most house shows, that none of the champions were going to lose their titles, there was still tons of action both nights! It was also nice to see Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin show off their individual talents with their respective title matches at night one. Then come back on night two for a Tag Team Championship Match as the Motor City Machine Guns, which the crowd was excited for. Full results for both nights can be found  on impactwrestling.com.

IMPACT’s next event is their yearly summer event “Slammiversary” on Saturday July 15th. As previously reported on PWMania, one match has already been announced. Chris Sabin will defend his IMPACT X-Division Championship against Lio Rush.
