Jim Ross Announces Cancer-Free Status, Plans AEW Return At All In

Wrestling legend and iconic commentator Jim Ross has shared a significant health update, confirming that he is officially cancer-free and ready to get back behind the microphone for All Elite Wrestling.

Speaking candidly on a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross revealed that his health has made a major turnaround after a prolonged battle with cancer. “The cancer’s gone, which I’m very happy to say,” Ross declared. “I’m blessed that my health has returned, and I’m feeling pretty damn good.”

The Hall of Fame announcer, who has been a cornerstone of wrestling commentary for decades, admitted that he’s eager to return to work after a lengthy absence. “I’m tired of sitting at home, and I’m excited about the opportunities that await,” he said. “My plan is to be in Dallas for the big event [AEW All In].”

Ross also took a moment to express deep gratitude to AEW and its President, Tony Khan, for their steadfast support during his recovery. “Tony Khan has been amazingly wonderful during my illness. He supported me wholeheartedly,” Ross stated. “That’s the way a boss should act—take care of your people. Tony Khan has certainly taken good care of me, and I plan on being reciprocal and doing my best to take care of him in my role going forward.”

With renewed energy and a clean bill of health, JR is expected to be involved in the AEW All In weekend festivities in Arlington, Texas, starting with Starrcast on Friday, July 11, and culminating in the massive pay-per-view on Saturday, July 12.

As one of the most respected voices in pro wrestling, Ross’ return will no doubt be welcomed by fans around the world. His legacy continues to grow—not only for his legendary calls at the commentary desk but also for his resilience and unwavering dedication to the business.
