WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently took to an episode of his Kurt Angle show podcast, where he talked about a number of topics including working with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley as his Commissioner Foley character.
Angle said, โMick came to me at the beginning. He said, โListen, your whole thing, your whole gimmick, itโs awesome.โ He said, โI absolutely love it. I am in love with your character. This is something I always wanted to do. Thatโs what he told me.โ And we had great chemistry together. We did pre-tapes and stuff. We were so funny. And it was just a lot of fun to work with him. And he actually came up with a lot of the ideas in the pre-tapes, the verbiage to say, I bet he was really brilliant with that kind of stuff. He took the lead, and I followed him. Heโs a beneficial resource for my kids because heโs Santa Claus.โ
His pairing with Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak:
โI like them a lot. They had, they had stuff to work on. Okay? Luther wasnโt the greatest in the ring. He. He really needed to work on his technique and some ring psychology. And Mark Jindrak needed to work on his promo skills. And the problem with both of them is they didnโt work on it. They didnโt practice extra. They didnโt come in early and work on it. So they have improved very little from the time we started till when we broke up, which was only about 6 or 7 months, I believe. But it was a relatively quick faction. It sounds like, combined, they could have been a pretty good wrestler. You know, one had some form. You had the baddest wrestler in the world, Mark Jindrak, work like a son of a gun in the ring. Luther Reigns could cut a promo like no other. Yeah, you basically had The Rock again. Thatโs what you had.โ
WWE Armageddon 2004:
โIt was a turnout, and it was a shit show. Yeah, yeah. Iโm sorry. My match was, too.โ
Teaming up with Reigns and Jindrak to face Big Show in a 3-On-1 Handicap Match:
โAll right. Can I tell you how this all transpired, please? Okay. Vince McMahon wanted the match to be a handicap match. Jindrak and Reigns versus Big Show. And I was like, what the hell? Itโs a pay-per-view. I want to get paid. So Vince said โOkay, youโre in the match now. Itโs a three-on-one.โ Vince basically had Big Show annihilate the three of us, and he did it to teach me a lesson because I wasnโt supposed to be in the match. And it was only supposed to be Jindark and Reigns. But I added myself to the match, and Vince said, well, screw you too. Youโre going to get beat, too. Youโre getting your ass. Like it was like my dad saying, listen, son, you fucked up. Deal with it, you know? Yeah, I pretty much didnโt do anything.โ
