WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan is officially expected to undergo surgery and miss up to six months of in-ring action following her shoulder injury sustained on the June 16th, 2025 edition of Monday Night RAW, according to multiple reports.
The news was first broken by @CodyWhoadesPWN of Bodyslam.net and later confirmed by Fightful Select, who reported that the injury is serious enough to require a surgical procedure. A six-month timeline would project Morgan’s possible return between December 2025 and January 2026.
Morgan suffered the dislocation during the opening moments of her match with Kairi Sane on RAW. The match was halted almost immediately, and backstage reactions indicated that the severity was apparent from the start. The incident has now led to a full creative reset behind the scenes.
Sources indicate that Morgan was set to play a major role in the upcoming Evolution 2 premium live event, originally penciled in for a high-profile tag team match alongside Raquel Rodriguez against a reuniting Bella Twins. With Morgan sidelined, the entire angle has been scrapped, and WWE creative has reportedly been forced to start from scratch with parts of the summer card.
There is also uncertainty surrounding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, as one half of the current champions is now expected to miss significant time. WWE has yet to announce how they plan to address the status of the titles, though a decision is likely imminent.
Kairi Sane has since issued an emotional statement addressing the unfortunate incident, which you can read here.
