AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné has weighed in on the return of WWE Evolution, while also taking a jab at a familiar name in the AEW women’s division.
In newly surfaced clips from a subscriber-only Instagram chat, Moné commented on WWE’s decision to bring back the all-women’s premium live event later this year. Though she now competes in AEW, the former Sasha Banks didn’t hold back her opinion.
“Any thoughts about Evolution 2? I think it’s about time,” Moné said. “They waited way too long to have an all-women’s pay-per-view, but I love and will always support and be a huge advocate for women’s wrestling. So, I’m excited for that, for the women that get to perform on that.”
Moné’s comments show continued support for women across all promotions, but the tone shifted when asked about her unfinished business with Britt Baker.
“Well, if the D.M.D. wants a back adjustment, she knows where to find me,” Moné said with a smirk. “In my locker room. But make sure you knock on the door first before entering or I’m gonna call security and then the cops.”
The feud between Moné and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. has remained largely dormant due to Baker’s injury hiatus, but with both women now active on AEW programming, the tension could soon boil over.
