TNA star Mike Santana is heading into one of the biggest matches of his career with more than gold on his mind—he’s dreaming of a cultural celebration that would unite heritage, community, and wrestling glory.
Santana is set to challenge Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship on the June 3rd, 2025 edition of WWE NXT, but if he wins, he already knows exactly how he wants to celebrate: by appearing with the title at the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
The idea was pitched during a recent episode of Busted Open, when host Dave LaGreca painted the moment:
“Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City. See Mike Santana holding that TNA World Championship… What do you think?”
Santana, who proudly represents the Bronx, didn’t hesitate.
“Listen, I better have my own convertible. I’m going to be standing in the back of that waving the biggest flag in the world, carrying the TNA World title. Man, what great a moment could I ask for?”
LaGreca urged TNA to help make the moment happen, calling it “a cool moment waiting to be made.”
Santana continued, reflecting on his roots:
“People ask me, like, you really from the Bronx? And I’m like, yeah… I’m outside. I’m from the Bronx, New York. I could go on my balcony right now and show you the Grand Concourse.”
He emphasized the power of being authentic in a business full of characters.
“A lot of people are playing a character—I’m myself, bro. And I’m thankful that I’ve been able to get this far in my career, not having to conform to anything or anybody, and being myself.”
Santana also praised WWE for embracing that authenticity during his recent NXT appearance.
Looking ahead, the possibility of raising the TNA World Title above a sea of Puerto Rican flags in NYC is more than just a dream—it’s a statement.
“I do this for me, for my family, my culture, for that TNA locker room.”
If he claims the title on June 3rd, fans may witness one of the most emotionally resonant title celebrations in recent memory—live on the streets of the Bronx.
