Roman Reigns may be gearing up for a blockbuster leap into Hollywood, as the multi-time WWE Champion is reportedly in discussions to join the cast of an upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie, according to Deadline.
While the project itself has been in development under Legendary Entertainment, new details have emerged via Fightful Select, confirming that Reigns is actively in talks for a role — though “nothing is finalized as of yet.”
What has truly turned heads, however, is the specific character Reigns is being considered for: Akuma, the powerful, demonic martial artist and long-standing villain in the Street Fighter franchise.
“Not the first name that many would expect when thinking of Reigns,” one industry source noted to Fightful, referring to the casting buzz.
Akuma, known for his intense aura, supernatural strength, and iconic design featuring red hair, glowing eyes, and a relentless fighting style, represents a bold and unexpected choice for the “Tribal Chief.” The role would mark Reigns’ most prominent acting opportunity to date, following his past appearances in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and The Wrong Missy.
This potential move comes as Reigns continues to take time off from WWE programming. He was last seen on the post-WrestleMania 41 episode of Raw, where he was attacked by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker, leading to further speculation about his future both in WWE and beyond.
Should the deal go through, Reigns would join a growing list of WWE stars making a successful transition to Hollywood, further solidifying his place as one of WWE’s top crossover stars.
