TNA Wrestling star Leon Slater is set to challenge the reigning TNA X-Division Champion, Cedric Alexander of The System, for the X-Division Title at this weekend’s 2026 Lockdown pay-per-view (PPV) event. Slater has agreed to a stipulation set by Alexander: if he loses, his previous reign as TNA X-Division Champion will be erased from the history books permanently.
Since this stipulation was announced, fans have had numerous questions about how it will work. In response, the company recently shared a detailed explanation on its Twitter (X) account.
The post reads, “@LEONSLATER_ agreed to an unprecedented stipulation in order to get his X-Division Title rematch against @CedricAlexander this Sunday at #TNALockdown – if he loses, his X-Division Title reign will be erased from history. But what does that actually mean in practice:
– Leon Slater’s reign would no longer be recognized by TNA Wrestling.
– The title history will officially recognize the title moving from Moose to Cedric Alexander with a period of inactivity during Leon Slater’s reign.
– Amazing Red would once again be recognized as the youngest X-Division Champion in history.
– Austin Aries would be the sole holder of the record for longest X-Division Title reign.”
TNA Lockdown 2026 is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, at the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Illinois, and will air live on TNA+.
