Longtime WWE executive Bruce Prichard is reportedly preparing to undergo neck surgery after dealing with complications from an injury believed to date back more than three decades.

During the latest episode of 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff, Conrad Thompson provided an update on Prichard’s health, revealing that the WWE Executive Director has been experiencing significant neck problems that have affected his quality of life. “I don’t know that Bruce has revealed it, but Bruce has been dealing with a neck injury,” Thompson said. “It turns out that Bruce is going to have to have some surgery on that rascal, and he hadn’t been having the best quality of life recently.”

Thompson added that Prichard has already been undergoing rehabilitation as he works to manage the condition. “He’s on the mend, he’s doing rehab and all that jazz, but he’s hurting for certain.”

According to Thompson, the injury can be traced back to an angle involving The Ultimate Warrior during Prichard’s time portraying the Brother Love character in WWE in the early 1990s.

Thompson claimed that Prichard suffered a broken neck during the segment, although the injury reportedly went undiagnosed for decades. “He broke his neck, and he just found out just recently,” Thompson explained. “All these years later.”

Prichard currently serves as WWE’s Executive Director and remains a key figure in the company’s creative operations, working under Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

The veteran wrestling executive returned to WWE’s creative team in 2019 after previously holding several prominent behind-the-scenes roles with the promotion.

Earlier this year, Prichard was also forced to step away from his WWE responsibilities for approximately two months due to back-related health issues. He subsequently returned to work during the summer.

The latest development raises questions about whether Prichard will need to take another leave of absence while recovering from the planned neck procedure.

As of this writing, no surgery date has been disclosed, and there has been no confirmation regarding how long Prichard might be away from his WWE duties.

WWE has not publicly announced any changes to Prichard’s responsibilities in connection with the reported surgery.
