WWE Hall of Famer JBL recently weighed in on how he envisions John Cenaโ€™s legendary WWE career coming to a close โ€” and according to him, it wonโ€™t be with a heel turn.

Speaking on the Something To Wrestle With podcast, JBL addressed speculation surrounding Cenaโ€™s future in WWE, particularly the idea that his final run could see him embrace a villainous persona. JBL, however, believes the WWE Universe wonโ€™t let that happen.

โ€œI donโ€™t see it,โ€ JBL said. โ€œItโ€™s one of these things where they want him to come back to be Cena so badly that when itโ€™s all said and done, if he just comes out the next night as a babyface, the place will go nuts.โ€

JBL pointed to the respect and gratitude fans have for Cenaโ€™s contributions over two decades as the deciding factor in how his farewell will unfold.

โ€œTheyโ€™re gonna thank him. Theyโ€™re going to thank him for everything,โ€ he continued. โ€œYou look at this scenario โ€” if he stays a heel, letโ€™s say his last match is on a Sunday. He comes out on Monday Night RAW the next night, and thatโ€™s the last time youโ€™re going to see him. When he comes out, that place is going to go crazy cheering for him because theyโ€™re going to be so thankful for what heโ€™s done.โ€

With Cenaโ€™s in-ring schedule winding down and his Hollywood career in full swing, conversations about his final match have become more frequent โ€” but if JBLโ€™s prediction holds true, Cenaโ€™s exit will be met with thunderous cheers, not boos.
