WWE Hall of Famer JBL recently weighed in on how he envisions John Cenaโs legendary WWE career coming to a close โ and according to him, it wonโt be with a heel turn.
Speaking on the Something To Wrestle With podcast, JBL addressed speculation surrounding Cenaโs future in WWE, particularly the idea that his final run could see him embrace a villainous persona. JBL, however, believes the WWE Universe wonโt let that happen.
โI donโt see it,โ JBL said. โItโs one of these things where they want him to come back to be Cena so badly that when itโs all said and done, if he just comes out the next night as a babyface, the place will go nuts.โ
JBL pointed to the respect and gratitude fans have for Cenaโs contributions over two decades as the deciding factor in how his farewell will unfold.
โTheyโre gonna thank him. Theyโre going to thank him for everything,โ he continued. โYou look at this scenario โ if he stays a heel, letโs say his last match is on a Sunday. He comes out on Monday Night RAW the next night, and thatโs the last time youโre going to see him. When he comes out, that place is going to go crazy cheering for him because theyโre going to be so thankful for what heโs done.โ
With Cenaโs in-ring schedule winding down and his Hollywood career in full swing, conversations about his final match have become more frequent โ but if JBLโs prediction holds true, Cenaโs exit will be met with thunderous cheers, not boos.
