According to a report from PWMania.com, despite escalating violence and tensions in the Middle East amid the ongoing conflict in Iran, WWE appears to be moving forward with plans for Crown Jewel 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company is reportedly preparing contingency plans for the premium live event in case it needs to relocate.
Bryan Alvarez from F4WOnline.com reported that WWE has identified a backup city in the United States for the event. He stated, “As of 10 AM ET today, Riyadh is still the plan for Crown Jewel, although there is a backup city in the U.S. that is on the table.”
This update comes in the wake of recent incidents in Riyadh, where operations were suspended at King Khalid International Airport following an air strike by Houthi forces. A recent wave of air strikes resulted in 12 fatalities and around 300 injuries. The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia issued a security alert over the weekend, strongly advising all U.S. citizens to avoid the airport and surrounding areas due to the risk of flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. A Level 3 travel advisory is currently in effect from the State Department, advising U.S. citizens not to travel to the region.
Recently, WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple” Levesque released a new poster for the event, which still promotes Crown Jewel 2026 for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, next month. As of now, WWE has not announced any changes regarding the premium live event.
WWE Crown Jewel is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the Riyadh Season Stadium in the King Abdullah Financial District.
