WWE appears to be regaining star power in the near future as the company prepares for Money in the Bank on July 1st and SummerSlam on August 5th.
After suffering an ankle injury while doing a spot outside the ring during a SmackDown segment in early March, Kofi Kingston was pulled from a fatal five-way Intercontinental Title number one contender’s match the following week on SmackDown before having surgery a few weeks later.
Kingston previously told the Battleground Podcast that he was doing rehab in Orlando, FL, this week and that he is on track to return after having surgery to remove a bone chip and repair a ligament.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “Kofi Kingston should be back shortly after undergoing ankle surgery. He is starting to be listed in advertising for shows, although the shows are still a few months away.”
Kingston will most likely reunite with Xavier Woods on Raw when he returns, as they were moved from SmackDown to Raw as a tag team.
