WWE Hall of Famer Adam โ€œEdgeโ€ Copeland recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast to talk about a number of topics including how his character in AEW is essentially his real self unlike Edge in WWE, who was just a character.

Copeland said, โ€œItโ€™s essentially me now. Edge was always a character. Even in this last run, it was basically me out there and Iโ€™d even say in promos, โ€˜This is pretty much Adam at this stage. Edge was just a name.โ€™ Itโ€™s odd I guess to put that skin on over the years, but with this last run I donโ€™t feel like it really was.โ€

Copeland also talked about how the possibilities are wide open with his character and how there are so many different paths they can go.

โ€œAll of the real โ€˜Rated-Rโ€™ stuff gets left behind. Now itโ€™s just the person behind the performer thatโ€™s almost front-and-center โ€ฆ and it was also kind of freeing. The possibilities are wide open, and thatโ€™s fun. Thereโ€™s so many different paths we can go.โ€
