WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett, who is also All Elite Wrestlingโ€™s Director of Business Development, appeared on an episode of his โ€œMy World with Jeff Jarrettโ€ podcast. In it, he discussed various topics, including criticism of him wanting to become the AEW World Champion.

Jarrett said, โ€œI am a contracted AEW talent, and I believe every male talent should have a goal. And you know, you can talk โ€” Oh boy, we could back, no matter what it may be. Doctor Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, a whole list. You can get back into biblical times and talk about markers and monuments and all that. But kind of the โ€” eyes on the prize, and thatโ€™s still the goal. But Iโ€™m going to kind of jump off into this, Conrad, because Iโ€™ve kind of obviously had a lot of time to think over the last 48 hoursโ€ฆ But as it pertains to AEW โ€” Conrad, maybe weโ€™ll go back in time a little bit. I knew beyond the shadow of a doubt when I announced that [he wanted to win the title] on January 1st, I knew that it would ruffle some feathers. Thatโ€™s kind of par for the course in my career.โ€

On MJF:

โ€œIf you think this is strictly for storyline purposes? You donโ€™t know MJF. Go ask him โ€” maybe more importantly, go ask the people around him how fixated he is on the AEW World Title. Does he truly believe he could be a one-hit wonder? Thereโ€™s no doubt in my mind. I got that from him, just the offhanded talks that Iโ€™ve had with him through the last year or so.โ€
