WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley spoke with Monopoly Events at For The Love of Wrestling 2025 on various topics, including his favorite match he ever wrestled in.

Foley said, โ€œMy favorite match I ever wrestled was Backlash against Randy Orton in 2004.โ€

On why that was his favorite match:

โ€œIt took me all day to get home because Edmontonโ€™s a long way from Long Island. There was a flight delay, a baggage delay, and by the time I got home, RAW was already on even though I caught the red-eye flight. As soon as they announced Randy Orton, the reaction was so much different than itโ€™d ever been. In one night, we changed peopleโ€™s perception about Randy Orton. Thatโ€™s why I think thatโ€™s my favorite match.โ€

On how entering the 1998 Royal Rumble as all three Faces of Foley wasnโ€™t his idea:

โ€œIt wasnโ€™t my idea because I donโ€™t think Iโ€™d be bold as to suggest that Iโ€™d be in three different times. I know this is going to get another boo, but I believe it was a Vince idea but not Vince McMahon; I think it was a Vince Russo idea, honestly. He [Russo] had some really good ideas over the years.โ€
