WWE producer TJ Wilson appeared on the Developmentally Speaking podcast to discuss several topics, including TNA Wrestling star Chris Bey.
Wilson said, โA Chris Bey, for example. Iโve been in contact with him this whole time, DMing him. Iโve told him this whole time, โYouโre gonna make a full recovery,โ and I truly believe that. Some of itโs from experience, but I was never truly in the same situation he was in. I was in a different version, but a similar one. So I tell him, some days are gonna be really hard, and these are going to just sound like words, but just know you canโt give up. The second you give up, itโs over. Itโs absolutely over, in anything. If you keep going, you donโt know whatโs on that other side. You donโt know.โ
On seeing the video of Bey standing up again on his own:
โChris Bey, I tell himโฆI was at my ring, he sent me a video of him standing up by himself. I was emotional. I was like, โMan, you inspire the hell out of me, man.โ Like I said, Iโve been in this business for 30 years, Iโve seen a lot. Iโm inspired all the time by people, and Iโve never even met Chris Bey. Iโve never physically met this man yet. Mine and Nattieโs ultimate plan is to bring him to the dungeon. We really want to do that when the timeโs right. But look at his progress. Itโs because he just keeps pushing. He doesnโt give up. In that situation, put myself in a similar situation to him, you canโt give up.โ
On dealing with his own injury and paralysis:
โThe worst feeling, getting hurt was brutal, and the paralysis was the scariest thing ever, but fast-forward a few weeks, when I had the surgery, when I woke up from the surgery was the worst, outside the paralysis, waking up from the surgery was the worst I felt because they had to cut through my head, so now my head was throbbing, on top of my neck. It was awful. I remember waking up and being like, โI wish I didnโt get this surgery.โ Then it was a process, and I couldnโt give up. I donโt know. Thatโs always my thing. Once we give up on whatever it is, itโs over. Again, that may not be a terrible thing sometimes. Sometimes, itโs a part of life. But it will be definite that itโs over.โ
