Former ECW star Justin Credible (real name Peter Polaco) recently sat down for a raw and emotional interview with Maven, addressing long-standing accusations that he scammed fans by taking money for merchandise and not fulfilling orders, along with criticism over missed podcast appearances and no-shows.
Credible admitted mistakes were made but strongly denied any malicious intent:
โDid it happen? Yeah, it happened. But not the way people are saying. I swear on my children, and I would never lie on them. I did it with the best intentions. But sometimes, Iโd get $40 through Cash App, and by the time fees hit and I buy food, the moneyโs gone. I wasnโt ready for that type of responsibility. I wasnโt equipped for it.โ
He emphasized that he never set out to scam anyone and is open to making amends:
โIf people want to reach out, my email is [email protected]. I donโt have the cash right now, but weโll work something out. If you paid, you deserve it. Iโm embarrassed. But Iโm not a scam artistโthat word hurts. I was just trying to feed my wife and kids.โ
Credible also responded to criticisms of missed podcast interviews and no-shows:
โNot showing up for podcasts? That only happened once or twice, maybe. But they go online and blow it up like Iโm screwing them. I never bad-mouth anyone, even when promoters ghost me after a show and still owe me $500. I just donโt go online and blast them. But they turn around and bash me. So yeah, I block peopleโI donโt need that energy.โ
He also pushed back on claims that he ignores fans:
โIโve given out my phone number to fans. Told them to call me, letโs work it out. But itโs easier for people to talk trash online than face me in real life.โ
Credible acknowledged his past missteps but asked for understanding:
โOf course I couldโve handled things better. Do I feel bad? Yeah, because people didnโt deserve that. But this isnโt some big operation. If I made $300 or $400 and didnโt send merch, thatโs a lotโbut I never meant to. And if you know me, if you meet me in person, youโll seeโIโm a good man. Iโve done things Iโm not proud of, but Iโm not a bad person.โ
