Former TNA star Alex Hammerstone spoke with Fightful about several topics, including the possibility of facing AEW World Tag Team Champion Bobby Lashley in a match at some point.
Hammerstone said, โI mean, itโs a huge honor. I donโt have much of a relationship with Bobby. I think Iโve only met him in passing, but heโs definitely someone Iโd love to work with. Obviously, you talk about angles like that that just seem like tailor-made. Itโs like the world is just coming together to be like, โHereโs this thing you could do.โ Itโs kind of guaranteed to work to some extent. That being said, who knows. Iโm in a very exciting position where Iโm you know branching out and working with a lot of companies, but even just the MLW stuff right now, thereโs talks of me going down to CMLL. Thereโs talks of me going to New Japan with them. Thereโs so much stuff thatโs open to me right now that Iโm just trying to take it all in and take it one step at a time and see what happens. Iโm open to a lot of things, but Iโm just trying to make sure I keep myself in a position where Iโm able to put my best foot forward. Because I know what itโs like to not enjoy it and not put my best foot forward.โ
On a possible return to Japan after previously working with NOAH in 2019:
โYeah, 2019 was the last time I was there, and Iโve had opportunities. That being said, I have become increasingly a homebody over my years, which is something you wouldnโt expect of a pro wrestler. You think theyโd get more used to being on the road, but I donโt want to be away from my girlfriend and dog for six weeks. Iโm looking at like two weeks max, and you know, a lot of companies right now are in the position where theyโre trying to bring guys out for longer-term deals, and even that two weeks is mentally like, โOoh, thatโs a long time.โ So weโll see what happens. Iโm open to it, like I said, itโs just gotta be the right situation.โ
