Vince McMahon Tried To Buy Controlling Stake In Combat Sports Promotion

Despite resigning from TKO Group Holdings amidst a major civil lawsuit, it appears Vince McMahon is exploring avenues for a return to the combat sports and entertainment industry.

According to a new report from Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, McMahon recently attempted to purchase a controlling interest in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). While the deal ultimately did not go through, BKFC President David Feldman confirmed that a meeting took place and that McMahon expressed serious intentions to move forward.

“He’s Vince McMahon — if I were him, I’d want creative control, too,” Feldman said. “He was awesome, very complimentary, and he was very serious to do business.”

The move adds fuel to growing speculation that McMahon, now legally free to pursue new ventures following the expiration of his non-compete clause with TKO, is looking to re-enter the world of professional wrestling or combat sports in some capacity.

As PWMania.com previously reported, McMahon has formed a new company with a team of former WWE executives, laying the groundwork for what could be a rival or adjacent venture to WWE.

Still, McMahon’s path back to the spotlight is far from straightforward. He remains at the center of a high-profile civil lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, which includes serious allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking. These accusations — and the broader legal implications — may serve as a major obstacle for any mainstream return.

Eric Bischoff had previously mentioned McMahon meeting with a BKFC representative, and now it seems those reports have been confirmed.

Whether McMahon can orchestrate a successful comeback remains to be seen, but his latest moves make one thing clear — he isn’t planning to stay sidelined for long.
