Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently opened up about a visit he made to WWE headquarters, revealing that he spent time meeting with several departments to better understand what a future behind-the-scenes role in the company could look like.

Speaking on the latest episode of his What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, Rhodes explained that his previous executive experience in AEW motivated him to approach the visit seriously and with a different perspective.

“I wanted to go to the office to see what life would be like at WWE HQ. I had a career before as an executive vice president [for AEW], and I failed at it. But I had some success along the way—then failed. Ultimately, I learned a great deal from said failure, as we do. That’s what we need. But I wanted to go.”

Rhodes went on to describe how he prepared for the meetings, noting that he treated the experience almost like interviewing for a position within the company.

“I said, ‘Oh man, I’m going to treat it like I’m going there for a job, right?’ I’ll write a sample. I’m going to write a full tech format—times and everything—and not a dreamer one. I’ll take what we have now and put one together. I’m going to go and share that with Bruce Prichard and the creative team, and I’m going to sit with them. And I’m going to go to CPG. I’m going to meet with Lee Fitting and his team. I’m going to meet these departments—not the ‘Hi, I’m such-and-such.’ We can do that in three minutes. I’m going to actually know: What can I really do for you? Like community—what can I really do for you? Do I fit in anywhere? Because I got the bug.”

The comments offer an interesting glimpse into Rhodes’ long-term mindset beyond his in-ring career, especially given his prior executive role during AEW’s formative years. While Rhodes remains one of WWE’s top active stars, his latest remarks suggest he is already exploring ways he could eventually contribute to the company on the corporate and creative side as well.
