Carlito says he has accomplished what he wanted from his wrestling career and is now open to whatever comes next following his departure from WWE.

Speaking with Inside The Ropes, Carlito was asked about his future and whether he still considers himself a “one-company” type of wrestler. “Man, I can retire now, baby, so the plan is whatever it is. That’s all I wanted to do. That was my goal. Now I’m playing with house money at this point. If something good comes up, great.”

Carlito then joked that his days of remaining exclusively loyal to WWE are over. “Like I said before, if I stayed loyal to WWE, it’s just like being a beaten housewife at this point. You know what I mean?”

With his WWE run behind him, Carlito said he is willing to consider opportunities elsewhere rather than limiting himself to one promotion. “So I’m open to whatever. And if not, I’ll just ride off into the sunset.”

The former Intercontinental and United States Champion also made it clear that he would be comfortable walking away from professional wrestling entirely if another opportunity does not materialize. “Like I said, I enjoy performing for you guys, but if I’m forgotten tomorrow, I’m totally okay with that.”

For Carlito, the next stage of his career appears to be less about chasing a particular company or accomplishment and more about taking opportunities as they come. While he remains open to continuing to wrestle, he also sounds content with retirement if his WWE departure ultimately proves to be the end of his in-ring career.
