AEW star Anthony Bowens, a member of The Opps, recently spoke with MSR about various topics, including the injuries he has been dealing with lately. Bowens clarified that while he doesn’t have a torn MCL, the right side of his meniscus is damaged.

He also revealed that he has been diagnosed with multiple concussions and has a bruised nerve in his lower back. Additionally, Bowens discussed his struggles with chronic neck pain, expressing that he feels like an older gentleman who has experienced a lot and struggles to get out of bed after each match.

Bowens said, “Yes, it’s entertainment but at the same time, it’s very hard to do this at a very high level and not be an athlete. You have to be in intense cardiovascular shape. You have to be able to have coordination. The physicality is very real. I don’t have an MCL. The right side of my meniscus is torn. I had to clean up my other meniscus. I’ve had multiple diagnosed concussions. Bruised nerves in my lower back. I have chronic neck pain. After a match, I feel like I’m an older gentleman who’s been through it all, and I can’t get out of bed.”

Bowens last competed on AEW television during the June 27th episode of Collision, where The Opps unsuccessfully challenged The Conglomeration, consisting of Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly, for the World Trios Championship. After that, he participated in a dark match following the July 15th episode of Dynamite, teaming up with his Opps stablemates to face The Frat House in a trios match.
