Fightful Select reports that Major League Wrestling (MLW) is considering eliminating weight classes. The main challenge they face is coordinating matchups with stars from New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and CMLL, as both companies operate under their own weight-class systems.

Currently, MLW has several weight divisions, each aligned with their championship titles: the World Heavyweight Championship, the World Middleweight Championship, and the National Openweight Championship. In the women’s division, there is one title, known as the World Women’s Featherweight Championship.

Additionally, the report notes that the company is in talks with a “top female talent” about a potential hire. Court Bauer confirmed earlier this week that they have been in discussions with Tessa Blanchard, although no information has been provided on other potential female stars.
