During Saturday’s episode of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, a chaotic brawl erupted between AAA Mega Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano, kicking off the show. General Manager Rey Mysterio intervened to separate the two, but ended up getting into a confrontation with his son.
As Dominik retreated, Americano took the microphone to express his concerns, stating that his issue with Dominik is far more significant than anyone realizes. He voiced his worries about how the current era of Lucha Libre will be remembered with Dominik as Mega Champion. Americano emphasized that Dominik does not deserve to be mentioned alongside Lucha Libre legends, including his own father, Rey Mysterio.
Americano criticized Dominik’s claim of being the king of the luchadores, arguing that a true king does not shy away from a fight. He claimed that, unlike past legends, Dominik has detracted from wrestling rather than contributed to it. Toward the end of his promo, Americano confirmed that the AAA Mega Championship match between him and Dominik is scheduled for TripleMania 34 Night Two.
AAA TripleMania 34 will take place over two nights, with Night One scheduled at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday, September 11, and Night Two at Arena CDMX in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico, on Sunday, September 13.
