TNA World Champion Leon Slater discussed his thoughts on winning the title with I Love Wrestling.
Slater said, “It’s a great feeling, man, it really is. And it’s very difficult to put into words, because it’s something that I had pictured since I was a kid, you know what I mean? Even as a wrestling fan before I had got into wrestling, everybody pictures what it’d be like to win the world title. So when that feeling finally hits, it’s a difficult one to manage.
On what it means to him to hold the title:
“But the fact that I am the TNA World Champion now means a lot more than just being able to carry this beautiful belt around with me in interviews, and to the ring and stuff like that. It means that I have the trust of management. It means I have the trust of my peers in the locker room. And kind of most importantly it means I have the trust of the audience, that I am the guy that can represent TNA. That when as a TNA fan, if you go like, ‘I watch TNA’ and someone goes, ‘Oh what’s on that show?’ You go, ‘Leon Slater’s on that show.’ And I’m proud to be that person that represents TNA in 2026. So it’s a great feeling and it’s a feeling that I am very, very proud of. And it’s a feeling that I hold very close to my heart and I don’t take lightly, that’s for sure.”
