WWE veteran Randy Orton has reassured fans that he has no plans to walk away from professional wrestling following his defeat to Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel 2026, promising that he still has unfinished business inside the ring.
Orton suffered a loss to Rhodes in a Last Man Standing match at Saturday’s premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The result prompted an emotional response from one longtime fan, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to express what the defeat meant after more than two decades of supporting The Viper.
In a lengthy message directed at Orton, the fan described the match as particularly difficult to watch, especially after seeing the WWE legend defeated with his own signature move. Although acknowledging Rhodes’ victory, the fan admitted that the result felt like a significant moment in Orton’s career. “Seeing you lose that way – out and finished with your own signature – felt like watching the last true predator get taken down in the only arena that ever really mattered to us.
I’m not writing this to pretend the match wasn’t hard-fought or that Cody didn’t earn the moment in the story they’re telling. I’m writing it because the emotion is real.
Because after more than two decades of following every chapter, tonight felt heavier than most losses. It felt like a page turning on something permanent.
You don’t owe us anything. You’ve already given more than almost anyone in this business ever has. But if you’re reading this – even for a second – know that the kid who started watching you in 2002 is still here. Still proud. Still loyal. Still believing the Viper has more venom left.”
Orton subsequently responded to the heartfelt message, making it clear that his loss at Crown Jewel should not be interpreted as the end of his wrestling career. “Whether it’s sooner, or later, I’ll be back. Guaranteed. WWE is my home away from home. I still have more to do, and until I am unable, I will continue to keep doing it.”
The 14-time WWE World Champion’s response offered reassurance to supporters who may have been concerned about his future following the dramatic conclusion to his match against Rhodes.
While Orton did not provide a specific timetable for his next appearance, his comments suggest that he remains committed to competing in WWE for as long as he is physically able.
For now, The Viper has made one thing clear: despite his Crown Jewel setback, he believes there is still more for him to accomplish in WWE.
Whether it’s sooner, or later, I’ll be back. Guaranteed. WWE is my home away from home. I still have more to do, and until I am unable, I will continue to keep doing it.
