AEW World Tag Team Champion Adam Copeland appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show to discuss various topics, including his ultimate goal in professional wrestling.

Copeland said, “To finally end it on on my terms, or as close to my terms as possible. To not be told, ‘That’s it, you’re done,’ [but] for me to be able to say, okay, that’s it, I’m done. That is really the last thing for me, for contentment in terms of my wrestling career.”

On when he would like to end his pro wrestling career:

“There’s some nights after a match where I’m like, ‘Whoa, okay, yeah, I got a year left, tops.’” Um, and then there’s times where I’m in, you know, in there and I’m feeling great and go, ‘Ah, man. I could probably do a little more than a year, but do I want to?’ Um, what do my kids want, more than anything?. I think they’d rather me be home, and just doing occasional acting gigs that their friends think is cool, you know, cuz suddenly I’m cool to all their friends again because I’m Ares [on Percy Jackson and the Olympians].”
