The future of one of AEW’s first tag team signings may be in question, as reports indicate that Private Party’s contracts are set to expire soon.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the duo of Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen—who were among the earliest talents signed by AEW in 2019—may be approaching the end of their current deals with the promotion. “Private Party’s deals are up very soon,” noted Dave Meltzer in the latest issue.
Private Party made an instant splash during AEW’s launch, scoring a shocking upset win over The Young Bucks during the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite. They would go on to become AEW World Tag Team Champions, helping to establish the company’s tag team division in its formative years.
However, the team’s momentum slowed after Quen suffered a major injury in late 2022, sidelining him for over a year. He returned in early 2024, and the team reunited, though their recent appearances have largely shifted to ROH programming rather than AEW’s main television shows.
With their contracts reportedly nearing expiration, questions now loom over whether Private Party will remain with AEW or explore opportunities elsewhere. As longtime pillars of the tag team division, their next move will be one to watch.
