According to Fightful Select , WWE made the decision to officially disband Damage CTRL in early May following the release of Dakota Kai. The report revealed that WWE announcers were explicitly instructed not to refer to any of the remaining members as part of the now-defunct faction on television.
While Fightful did inquire with WWE about the potential for a revival of the group — especially with Asuka expected to return — sources within the company confirmed that there are no current creative plans to bring Damage CTRL back. However, the door appears to be open for select members to team up again once everyone is healthy and available, and the name could potentially be revived in the future if the timing aligns.
The dissolution comes after several changes within the group. Bayley had already split from Damage CTRL last year, and with Kai’s release, Asuka and Kairi Sane both dealing with injuries, IYO SKY remained the only active member at the time of the decision. The group had already been disbanded by the time Sane returned to WWE programming later in the month.
Damage CTRL originally debuted at WWE SummerSlam 2022 and went on to become one of the most dominant women’s factions in recent WWE history.
